Who we are
Eastgate is the trading name of a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15389982) with its registered office at the Port of Liverpool Building, Pier Head, Liverpool L3 1BY, and it is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Our UAE operations are carried out by our Dubai entity. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is being renewed (application reference C2006824). You can reach us about anything in this policy at contact@east-gate.com.
Information we collect
When you submit an enquiry or contact form we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, country, investment experience, budget range and any message. If you correspond with us we keep that correspondence. Our hosting infrastructure records standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. If — and only if — you accept optional cookies, our analytics and visitor-tracking services collect information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, clicks and scrolling, together with device and browser information.
How we use it and our lawful bases
We use your information to respond to enquiries, provide our services and take steps you ask of us before entering into any agreement (legitimate interests and steps prior to a contract); to follow up about opportunities where you have asked us to (consent, which you can withdraw at any time); to understand how the site is used so we can improve it (consent, via the analytics cookie choice); and to meet legal obligations that apply to property transactions, such as anti-money-laundering checks (legal obligation). We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information with service providers who operate parts of the site and our business under contract, limited to what each needs: our website hosting and content-delivery provider, our database provider, our customer-relationship-management and email platforms, our transactional email service, and — only where you have accepted optional cookies — our analytics and visitor-tracking providers. A list of our current providers is available on request. Where you ask us to progress an enquiry about a specific development, relevant details may be shared with the developer or partner involved in that opportunity. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
International transfers
We operate from the UK and the UAE. Where personal information is accessed by our Dubai operation or by service providers based outside the UK, we limit access to what is necessary and rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK-approved standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any ongoing relationship. Enquiries that do not progress are deleted or anonymised within 24 months of our last contact. Records connected to transactions are kept for the statutory periods that apply to them (generally six years). Analytics data is retained according to our analytics providers' standard retention periods.
Cookies
This site sets one strictly necessary item in your browser's local storage to remember your cookie choice. Optional analytics and marketing services run only if you press Accept on the cookie banner; they set cookies used to understand how the site is used, to connect your enquiries to our records so we can follow up, and to measure the performance of our advertising. You can change your mind at any time via the Cookie settings link at the bottom of this page, which reopens the banner, or by clearing cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; to restrict or object to our processing of it; to receive a copy in a portable format; and to withdraw any consent you have given, at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@east-gate.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Complaints about our service
Eastgate is a member of The Property Ombudsman Scheme (membership number T13712). If you are unhappy with our service, our complaints procedure — including how to escalate to the Ombudsman — is set out on our Complaints page.
